It’s the beginning of December and the ladies are starting to feel festive. This time of year there’s nothing better than coming in from the cold and curling up with a hot drink and a little treat.
These crispy chocolate Christmas puddings are so easy to make and great for kids of all ages.
You will need…..
- 250g of your preferred milk chocolate
- 100g of white chocolate
- Roughly a third of a box of coco pops, or similar
- Golden syrup
- Red and Green icing pens
- Paper cases (any size)
Start by breaking the chocolate up into small pieces and put your coco pops into a large bowl.
Before you start, place your paper cases onto a baking tray for stability.
To melt the chocolate either make a Bain Marie by placing a heatproof bowl over a pan of boiling water (take all necessary precautions) add the chocolate to the bowl and warm until melted. Or microwave on full power in bursts of 5 to 10 seconds. However you choose to do it, take care not to overheat and burn your chocolate.
Once melted add around a table spoon of golden syrup, stir, then pour the mixture over your coco pops, blend the ingredients quickly, then spoon into paper cases. I used small ones to make bite sized puddings but it works well with any size really.
The puddings will quickly start to firm up.
Melt the white chocolate and drizzle over the puddings. No need to be neat, just dollop it on and let it dribble down.
Once the white chocolate has set use the icing pens to add ‘holly’ a couple of dashes of green and a spot of red work well but if you’ve a steady hand you can be as intricate as you’d like, especially on larger puds.
These crispy chocolate Christmas puddings are quick and easy, ideal to make for a last minute treat or as an activity for children (of any age)
